Insurgo Media Services Sponsors The Tandemers’ Charity Bike Ride

By Insurgo January 18, 2017

Insurgo Media Services is pleased to be supporting The Tandemers’ charity tandem bicycle ride from Cardiff to Edinburgh.

In February, four friends from south Wales plan to ride two tandem bicycles from the Principality Stadium (formerly Millennium Stadium) in Cardiff to the BT Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. As if that wasn’t ambitious enough, they plan to complete the entire trip in the space of just 5 days.

Their efforts will be in support of Velindre Cancer Centre – a specialist cancer treatment centre based in Cardiff.

Ashley Meredith, Scott Sier, Craig Morris and Jonathan Day will leave Cardiff on February 20th, arriving in Edinburgh on the 25th. During the trip, they will make overnight stops in Ludlow, Warrington, Windermere and Lockerbie before riding the final stretch to Edinburgh.

Insurgo Media decided to sponsor the group of friends not only because of the ambition of their challenge, but also because of their support for such a vitally important charity. In the words of The Tandemers, “this will be the craziest and toughest challenge of our lives, but nothing compared to the challenge of dealing with cancer.”

Insurgo’s sponsorship will help the ride go ahead, by helping cover costs. This allows for money donated by friends, family and the public to be directed towards Velindre.

Speaking of the sponsorship, Insurgo Media Services’ Managing Director Gavin Griffiths said: “We’ve been talking about giving to charity for over a year but it has yet to materialised. This initial investment in the Tandemers is a way of catching up for what we didn’t do last year. Whilst Insurgo’s plan in business is to continue its growth, we are also planning to share some of our recent successes and give something back both to our local community and charity events.

“I wish the guys a lot of luck, but most importantly a safe trip. I hope that the money they raise for Velindre Cancer Centre can be put to good use.”
